Our teaching model is based on the use of authentic and real projects, based on a highly motivating and involving task or problem, directly related to the context. Students develop competencies in a collaborative approach in search of solutions.
A project-based learning (PBL) project always starts with a significant problem to be solved, a question to be answered, or a challenge to be addressed.
Students who complete a PBL project engage in an extended and rigorous research process that includes inquiry, investigation and application.
Our students develop authentic projects that engage real-world contexts, address 21st century skills and relate to relevant concerns, interests and issues in students’ lives.
Project-based learning gives students the opportunity to make decisions about what they create and how they express their ideas. This inherent autonomy generates a strong sense of ownership in students.
A well-designed project includes structured time for reflection. Time spent reflecting allows students to make necessary adjustments to the project and grow from the learning experience.
PBL encourages students to give, receive, and apply feedback to revise and improve their final product. The critique and revision process creates opportunities for collaboration that might not otherwise occur.
The final step of the project is for students to make their work public by sharing, explaining or presenting it to an audience outside the classroom. A public product encourages high quality work and makes learning tangible.
In each academic period, our students develop a project where they display their initiative and taste for learning, develop scientific ways of thinking, find solutions to their questions, put their social skills into practice, express their findings aesthetically and value their processes. Students take an active role and promote academic motivation.
